RockyMounts GuideRail 2 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi, everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts GuideRail Hitch Mount Bike Rack, and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Toyota 4Runner. As far as bike racks go, the GuideRail is a personal favorite of mine because it's really well-built and I think it's a great fit on the 4Runner. It offers one of the best ground clearances out there. So if you're taking your 4Runner off the beaten path and you're worried about clearance, I don't think you have to worry about it as much with the GuideRail, and we'll check out that specific measurement later. But just as a rack itself, it's going to have an impressive capability, being able to hold up to 60 pounds per bike. more

Kuat Piston Pro 3 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Piston Pro three bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Toyota 4Runner. The Piston Pro is a really nice bike rack. It's gonna be a dual wheel mount design, which just means it holds the bike by both tires. What that translates to is zero frame contact, making it a really good fit for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes. The one downside to the three bike version that we have today is the weight capacity. more

Kuat NV 2.0 Base Bike Rack Review - 2023 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 Base and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Toyota 4Runner. The NV Base is a platform style bike rack, which means that the bike sits on top of the rack. That's gonna make it a little bit easier to load and unload, and it's my preferred way to carry a bike in the hitch. Now this one is also gonna be a really nice bike rack because it works with a wide range of bikes. more

Now this is gonna be a great bike rack if you're looking for something that's gonna be a platform style, that's very versatile, and that's able to accommodate a lot of different bikes at a premium level. One of the premium features is where it makes contact. It's not gonna make any frame contact and it's just gonna have a strap on one tire and a hook on the front tire. So it's gonna be able to accommodate a lot of alternative frame bikes and carbon frame bikes. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule T2 Pro XTR platform style bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. Now this is going to be a four-bike rack capable of carrying up to four bikes. It's gonna be a pretty easy system to use because it makes no frame contact, holds the bike by the front tire and the back wheel. The back wheel is held in by a wheel strap and that front tire uses a wheel hook. The hook is the thing that primarily keeps this upright and in place and the back strap provides stability. more

This is a dual wheel mount design, so you can see the wheel hoop on either side holding it down in place with the ratcheting arms that keep it down nice and tight. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts AfterParty Swing Away bike rack on the back of our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. Now this is gonna be, like I said, a swinging bike rack. What that means is we've got it loaded up like a normal bike rack but we've got this swing base arm at the bottom so it does have the ability to tilt away from the vehicle. I'll show you with the handle underneath you can pull it, tilt the whole rack down and use that to get quick and easy hatch access. Even on the 4Runner here with the very large hatch, it still does clear with plenty of room because of how aggressively it tilts. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Swagman Current platform style bike rack on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. Now, this is gonna hold the bike in these wheel cradles and primarily by our frame. We've got a frame hook up top holding the bike in those cradles, and then there's two wheel straps at the bottom as secondary points of contact to keep everything nice and secure. Overall, it does a pretty good job of getting the bike nice and still. And with this it's designed to be used with e-bikes. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're looking at the Yakima FullTilt on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. The FullTilt is a hanging style bike rack that holds the bike up here by the frame. It's hanging here with two zip strips over the top holding it down into the cradles, with a third zip strip over the seat post, limiting our side to side movement and helping with bike to bike contact. Because it makes frame contact we do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes, because that can damage the frame. With that in mind we also want to be cautious of alternative frame bikes and kids bikes. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner, we're gonna be checking out the Thule T1 platform style bike rack. First impression of the rack on the back of the 4Runner. I think it looks good, you know, but then again honestly just about any type of accessory you put on these vehicles, you know, they just look right at home. One thing I do like about this setup on the 4Runner is where the bike's gonna sit. So, you know, it's a little bit below my waist and I'm probably average height and it just makes it easy to get to and work with to get the bike up and lock it down and everything. more

Now this is a pretty unique bike rack in the sense that it has a lift on the back. You plug it into your seven way on your 4Runner, which in this case you will need an extension for, because the included cord does not reach your plug. But you can hit the down arrow on the back of the rack, and you can see, the whole bike rack starts to lower down. This will make it a lot easier to load and unload your bikes from the rack. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp here on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. Now, the OnRamp is an e-bike rack that's going to hold up to 66 pounds per bike and with an off-road capacity or an RV rating of 40 pounds per bike. It's gonna hold the bike really well. You've got the clamp, the cradle up top, holding that tube, keeping it upright, and the two straps on each wheel holding that down in place as well. It is a tray-style design, so if you do have two bikes of similar sizes you could kind of rotate them, lean them, not lean them but set them offset from each other so you don't have any sort of seat handlebar conflict which I really like. more

Now, this is a nice entry-level platform-style bike rack. It's going to hold the bike down here at each wheel with these rationing straps and with this clamp up on the center mast These two operate independently, so if you have two bikes where you have to have the clamp set at the same height, it's not gonna conflict with each other, which I really like. That's a big sticking point for some racks that have this style of attachment. They do also rotate 360 degrees to accommodate for those different style frames. more

Now, this is a really sharp looking bike rack and it's really solid too. We're gonna be holding the bike by the back wheel strap and a front wheel hook which means zero frame contact, making it really nice for our carbon frame bikes, alternative frame bikes, and with a 60 pound weight capacity per bike, even some e-bikes with that battery removed. If you are planning on taking this off road it does have an off road weight capacity of 36 pounds per bike. So just keep that in mind. more

Now, the way this is going to hold the bikes is by this frame hook right here. So, right away, I'd want to advise you against using this with your carbon frame bikes. It's gonna damage the frame because of how much pressure this hook is putting down on top of that tube. And with any sort of alternative frame bikes or kids' bikes, you do probably wanna pick up a bike adapter bar to make sure you get a good solid hold on top of it. more

Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2, on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. This rack's gonna be for you if you don't have carbon fiber frame bikes. It is gonna have frame contact, and what does that is the frame hooks here in the middle. But, you don't really have to worry about it scratching up your normal type bikes, 'cause we do have one, a coated little hook right here, we're we also have an added protection right here. It's very soft, so it's not gonna scratch up your bikes. If you do have a step-through bike, all you need to do is use an adapter bar like this, to put in between your seat and your handlebars for that frame hook to lock down. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner HR1450Z-85- Video
Today we have a 2015 Toyota 4Runner and we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE with the cargo carrier. The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE is gonna be great for you if you have a mountain bike, a road bike and electric bikes, if they're under 50 pounds. Also we're gonna have a decent amount of space up top to load up a lot of our cargo up to a hundred pounds. The Sport Rider SE can either come with these cradles right here, which has a maximum of three inches in tire width, or you can grab it that already has the fat tire cradles on there. These are gonna accept five inch tire widths or you can just grab these individually to swap over one or two, depending on what kind of bikes you have. That's the main gist with this bike rack but we do wanna take it on the test course to show you how it's going to look and feel, whenever we're going on bumps and stuff like that. more

Saris MHS 1 Bike and Accessory Rack Receiver Base Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi everyone, John here. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Saris MHS modular bike rack for four bikes on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. Now this is a great bike system if you need to get a ton of very heavy bikes onto the road into wherever you're going. Now, taking a look at the specs, this is going to be a platform style with 190 pound weight capacity, which is great especially whenever you can hold four bikes. Now keep in mind only the first two are going to be able to hold your e-bikes or your heavier bikes, so that is something to keep in mind. You can hold your heavier e-bikes on the first one. more

Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at our Swagman Escapee two-bike platform rack, right here on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. So this is gonna be a fixed platform rack. So compared to some other bike racks, which can fold away, tilt away, this doesn't really do that. But, what it does do, is that it has a weight capacity of 60 pounds per bike. So, your heavy electric big bikes remain being perfectly fine. more

This is gonna be a really nice wheel mount style bike rack in the single bike configuration. So, with a single bike, for me, a lot of the times, I'm just goin' out throughout the week by myself. Hey everybody, Zack here at etariler.com Today, we're taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 Base, on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. The NV 2.0 Base is by far my favorite bike rack. I borrow this one all the time, constantly throwing my bikes on this. My biggest thing I like about it is just the look and how it functions. It is one of the smoothest operating bike racks that I've ever used. I really like the matte finish to it. more
